The applied science model
The applied science model is the traditional and probably the most prevalent model underlying most training or education programmes for professions. This model results from the achievements of empirical science in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Applied science model of professional education
In its form, the applied science model is found to be essentially one-way. The trainee receives the findings of scientific knowledge and experimentation from experts in the relevant fields. It is the trainee’s responsibility to put the conclusions from the scientific findings into practice. If he/she fails, it is perhaps because he/she has not understood the findings properly, or he/she has not properly applied the findings and so forth. Hence, it is clear that in the applied science model there may be a gap between the thinker and the doer.
