Important Paragraphs

                                                         Bangladesh

Bangladesh is a small country in south Asia on the shore of the Bay of Bengal. Its total area is 147,570 square kilometres. It is surrounded by India on three sides. She became free in 1971. There prevails moderate climate in this country. So, people on the whole lead a peaceful life. It is a riverine country. The remarkable rivers are the Padma, the Meghna, the Jamuna, the Surma, the Karnafuli, etc. The natural scenery has made our country an exceptional one. We grow various kinds of crops. Rice and Jute are the main crops. We export tea to foreign countries, and thereby we can earn a great deal of foreign exchange. The people here are engaged with many types of occupations. The villagers are mostly engaged with agriculture. There are day labourers, fishermen, potters, etc. All the people including Hindus, Christians and Buddhists live here in harmony. The scenic beauties of different remarkable places offer a great scope to us. The foreigners visit our country every year. The Cox's Bazar Sea-beach is the main attraction of the country. It is the longest sea beach in the world which is visited by the foreigners. Thereby Bangladesh can earn a huge amount of foreign currency every year. We are really happy for being the citizens of this dear land.

                                                      LOAD SHEDDING

Load shedding means the discontinuation of the supply of electricity for the time being. It happens when the generation of power is less than its demand. The concerned authority blocks the flow of electricity in some areas for some time to manage the shortage of power. It affects the students much. They close their books and sit idly in darkness. They suffer a lot if electricity fails before their examination. The industrial units are paralysed owing to the failure of electricity. We can minimize load shedding by developing an effective power management system and by reducing system loss. The government should take necessary steps to stop it as early as possible. Accordingly more power stations in the country should be established. Corruptions in this sector must be curbed with an iron hand.

                                                      GOOD HEALTH

Good health refers to the physical and mental soundness which makes one healthy, fit and active and keeps one free from diseases. But it is not easy to maintain good health. In order to keep good health, one should follow certain rules of health. One should take regular physical exercise, proper rest or sleep and above all, a balanced diet. But it is a matter of regret that most of our people, as they are living below the poverty line, cannot manage all the foods necessary for maintaining good health. But even the rich and educated people of our country, though they take a wide variety of foods, are not conscious of the rules of good health. The ever-increasing problems of our day-to-day life seem to affect our health greatly. They give rise to frustration, hopelessness, mental disorder and many other socio-economic confusions. All these factors take away the peace of our mind and affect our health. However, a person with a simple and carefree life is likely to enjoy a sound mind in a sound body.

                                                   A BOOK FAIR

A book fair is a special occasion in which we find the opportunity to see many books displayed in a particular place. People go there to find their desired books. It is held in different times of the year in an open place or in auditoriums or big hall-rooms. It is very popular among people who have a great thirst for knowledge. This year in February I went to the book fair arranged by the Bangla Academy. The fair popularly known as "Amar Ekushey Grantha Mela" paves the way for the collection of admirable books. All kinds of books, drama, poetry, adventure, biography, translation are usually available in a book fair. According to me, a book fair facilitates our reading habits and thus makes us enlightened.
